Train to Busan

Train to Busan is directed by Yeon Sang-ho and release on 13 May 2016.The genres of this movie is horror movie. Horror movie may cause the audiences feel intense repugnance, fear, or dread. Britannica, T. E. (2013, August 30). Horror film. The purpose I writing this review is to discuss about this movie is different compare to the other Horror film.

There are a lot of subgenres of horror movie for example unnatural, psychological and Massacre. Train to Busan is under unnatural category which is bodily mutilations/mutations Blood suckers, pests, creatures growing within the body, altering the normal body states. Train to Busan under unnatural category is because of the special make up effect. The effect of postmodernism bring a lot of differences compare with the normal horror film. This is also one of the reason why Train to Busan is a famous film. For me Train to Busan is not only a horror movie. There are some others element added into this horror film it makes the audiences feel emotional. For example humanity, a business man was very selfish in order to survive. Besides, the impact of the zombie affection also is one of the element that makes us feel emotional. For example, Seok-woo and Su-an was forced to leave because of the zombie virus. In my opinion this is one of the postmodernism in this film because as we know that there are a lot of horror movie will only make you feeling fear not feeling sad.

Synopsis
This movie is about a father Seok-woo wanted to bring his young daughter Su-an to see her mother. When they were going to Busan a bodily mutilations person which is a zombie also get into the same train. The zombie virus soon infected to the others passenger. Unfortunately, Seok-woo accidentally get bitten by a zombie in order to protect his daughter he jump out from the train. Su-an and Seong-kyeong were safe and arrived at Busan at the end of the movie.

Analysis
Train to Busan is a horror movie and under the unnatural category because of the movie appear the bodily mutilation, virus infection which is a person become a zombie. From the beginning of the movie a girl was get infected the zombie virus. She run into a train then the infection from her leg started to infect to her whole body. From here we can know that this a horror movie because of the special make up.

Besides, a girl get infected the zombie virus then she chase the passenger on the train. This scene will bring the audiences feeling fear.

Next, there is one scene everyone is arrive a station then they though there was safe. The station was nobody there and it is very quiet, when the audiences though it is safe suddenly an army get bitten by a zombie. Then the Seok-woo bring her daughter and started to run again. Before that the station is clean but after the zombies come out the station suddenly become bloodily.

Lastly, when the passengers trying to escape from the train station, a group of army were fall down from the upstairs. This scene is the example of a horror film because it make audiences heart beating fast.

As I mention before Train to Busan not only makes the audiences feeling fear it also makes audiences feel emotional. This is because Train to Busan not only one genre in the films. There are some other genres in the movie such as action, adventure and drama.

Firstly, this movie involved action genre because of the fighting and chasing scene. For example, when Seok-woo, Sang-hwa and Yong-guk were going to the safe area they use weapon and fight with those zombie. Besides, there are a lot of scene the zombies were chased the passengers .For example, at the station a group of army were chasing the passengers.

Secondly, adventure is also one of the genre in this film because of Seok-woo bring his daughter Su-an going to Busan to see her mother. Unfortunately, the zombie infection happened, this make the travel become more difficult.

Thirdly, drama is one of the genres that control our emotion. For example, at the beginning of the movie the relationship between the father and daughter is not that good. Because of Seok-woo is busy for his work and also divorce with her wife and his daughter become the victim in this broken family. At this movie, the relationship between the father and daughter become well because of the daughter point out her father only care about himself and this is the reason her mother left them. The father slowly changing to a responsible father. But at the end of the movie Seok-woo failed to bring Su-an to find her mother because he is also infected. At the scene Seok-woo jump down from the train makes audiences feel emotional.

In my conclusion, The reason Train to Busan can be so famous compare to the other horror film is because it is not like normal horror film. Train to Busan is different with the other horror film is because the extra element added in such as humanity. This make the whole storyline become unique and more attractive to the audiences. Train to Busan also successfully combined the different genres together because it is really touching. After I watched this horror film, I realize that a horror film can be not only horror genre in a film.
